IBM FlashSystem 9500 provides petabytes of effective data storage in a very efficient four-rack unit chassis. It utilizes IBM Flash Core technology packaged into a 2.5-inch solid-state drive (SSD) form factor and using an NVMe interface. These Flash Core Modules (FCMs) deliver powerful inline, hardware-accelerated compression technology without performance impact, consistent microsecond latency and extreme reliability. The IBM Flash Core technology has enabled very high flash density and storage capacity. New third generation FCMs deliver enhanced compression technology enabling up to 116TB to be stored in a single drive. In addition, FCM 3 has full hot-swap capabilities and supports FIPS 140-3 Level 1 encryption with IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager and Gemalto SafeNet Key Secure centralized key management.
